Sara Renar is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Zagreb and belongs to the group of the most recognized musical names of the new generation in the region. She has five independent discographic releases behind her, in which she signs the lyrics and music. The album "Djeca" was nominated for the Porin award for best debut album in 2014, while in 2015 for the EP "Jesen" Sara was nominated in two categories (best female vocal performance, best alternative album), and won the Porin in the vocal performance category. "Tišina" from 2016 was nominated for the same award for album of the year and best alternative album, and the same album earned a nomination for IMPALA European album of the year. The latest live album "Gdje povlačiš crtu" resonated in all media, and according to all critics it is revolutionary and world-class material that deserves special attention. In the last three years, Sara has recorded around 250 concert performances across Europe and the region. In addition to her own original music, she has collaborated on projects with the theater group Montažstroj and the art collective SKROZ, is a frequent collaborator of literary events "Goranovo proljeće", "Tko Čita?", "Sjećanje na Tina" and "Doručak kod Krleža", collaborates with world-renowned DJ names (Insolate, Hibrid) and creates music for multimedia projects. She has received various European awards and scholarships, including the European Union project for the support of young musicians "European Music Incubator", the European support for the mobility of artists i-Portunus and the OneBeat Balkan artistic residency. Critics have given excellent reviews to all her previous releases and live performances, which have put Sara at the very top of the new music scene in the region.
In 2003, Renar marked a decade of her musical career with a series of concerts, and in 2004, a live album recorded at a concert in the iconic Zagreb club KSET was released. This year, she is releasing her fifth album "Nježne riječi".
Dimitrije Simović comes on this occasion as an instrumental accompaniment to Sara Renar. Dimitrije is the frontman of the band Igralom, which has 3 studio albums behind it (Pogrešna poznanstva, 2016, samizdat; Sunovrat, 2018, Ammonite/Geenger records; Premalim stvari, 2023, Menart) and a singer-songwriter under the name Dimitrije Dimitrijević (Čar-pitanje, 2020, Menart; Leđa mala, 2023, Menart). As a studio musician, he has collaborated with many artists across the region. In collaboration with Sara Renar, he is recording parts for her album Šuti i pjevaj, and for the upcoming album Nježne riječi. He has been a member of her band since 2020. Dimitrije also composes music for the theater (Paper Ships, INK, 2023), and together with Sara Renar, he composes music for Ne zaboravi pokrtiti stopala based on the text by Espi Tomičić (2023), The Pogo Dolls, Škvadra (2023), Ostajemo: perkusije ljubavi (Teatar 9, 2023) and ahead of them is Budi uvijek kao zmaj, 2025, HNK Zagreb.
